Colleagues - we're thrilled at your enthusiastic response to CPB's RJC grant
opportunity! In order to accommodate requests from several groups, we are
moving the deadline for applications by two weeks, to Friday April 10th.

A link to the guidelines and application requirements is in my original
e-mail, copied below. Please don't hesitate to be in touch with any
questions!

Best, as always - Joyce mac

CPB seeks to increase the capacity of public radio and television stations
to create high-quality original and enterprise journalism by supporting
Regional Journalism Collaborations ("RJCs") that will establish reporting
partnerships between multiple station newsrooms in a state or region.
With the reduced capacity of local newspapers, the diminished footprint of
commercial broadcast journalism, and the challenge of sustainability for
many online news organizations, public media is well positioned to become
the primary source of news and information for the American public, based on
trusted brands, loyal audiences, and a strong track record of award-winning
local, regional, and national journalism.
In pursuit of that critical goal, CPB is supporting the launch of RJCs that
will have an immediate high impact on the quantity and quality of original
reporting for a region and thus the relevance and importance of public media
news.
Building on the success of the CPB-launched Local Journalism Collaborations,
we believe that this new regional iteration of collaborative journalism will
enable public media to take a significant step forward in filling the
local/regional news gap.
RJC grant guidelines and application requirements are available at
http://www.cpb.org/grants/grant.php?id=503, and the deadline for submission
is 5:00 P.M., April 10th March 27, 2015.
As always, questions and/or comments are welcome!
Cheers -
Joyce Mac
