Hi everyone,

The deadline for this is this Saturday. The finalists will be on stage at
the Super-Regional meeting coming up later this year.

Last call to win $5,000 for your best Local that Works. Deadline is
Saturday, 7/28.

Are you part of the public media effort to create new distinctively local
programs and services?  If so, we want to learn what you’re doing, so we
can share your story with colleagues around the country.

Current is offering a $5,000 prize in our second Local that Works project
competition that closes this Saturday, July 28 at 5PM ET.

Submit your project today! http://www.bit.ly/localthatworks

What’s your best local project?  An award-winning feature series or a
“sense of place” program that explores one of your city’s historic
communities? Maybe you started a locally-focused podcast or launched a
community forum.  Did you expand your live, local concerts or start a
youth training program or fill the seats of a local theater for a night of
storytelling?  Tell us about that.

Or maybe… you created that rare project that is unique and perfectly
matched to your local community.  Like the Columbia River Ship Report
http://coastradio.org/coast-community-radio-coverage-area/programs-podcasts/the-ship-report/
from KMUN in Astoria, Oregon, Precious Lives
http://preciouslivesproject.org/ from WUWM in Milwaukee or Poetry Sunday
http://capeandislands.org/term/poetry-sunday#stream/0 from WCAI in Woods
Hole, Massachusetts.

Whatever you did “to be more local,” we want to hear about it.

Takes just 15 minutes to submit your project using this simple form:
http://www.bit.ly/localthatworks

Our panel of distinguished producers and managers will pick four finalists.
Then, we’ll fly you to Atlanta to present your project at the 2018
Super-Regional Meeting
https://prsuper-regionalmeeting.org/prro/2018/index.html.  Conference
attendees will pick the winner.

Be part of this year’s Local that Works project and we’ll send you a
complete catalog of all the entries.

Contact us if you need assistance.

Otherwise, we look forward to seeing your entry,

Mark Fuerst, [email protected]
Julie Drizin, [email protected]
