Subject: RE: [areps] Sad news: Phil Corriveau passed away
Thanks for sharing Mike.
We had a spirited conversation last week filled with laughs and much
reminiscing.
Phil was a past president of California Public Radio, and he made some
tough and significant changes at “KXPR” in Sacramento that paved the way
for the successes of Capital Public Radio.
Phil was a thoughtful thinker who listened, observed and learned before
making up his mind.
I’m sad, but know he is in a better place. Phil was a friend to many, and
I miss him already.

Subject: [areps] Sad news: Phil Corriveau passed away
Colleagues,
It’s with a heavy heart that I share the news that my predecessor as
Director of WPR, Phil Corriveau, has passed away. Phil stepped down from
this role back in 2010, still recovering from the effects of a stroke he’d
experienced in 2008. He remained a dear friend to many here at Wisconsin
Public Media, and those of us who knew him will miss his electric smile and
ringing laugh, as well as his fierce dedication to WPR and public media.
Stepping down was tough: as Phil noted in an article from our local weekly
“this job, the director of WPR, is something that I worked toward virtually
my entire career," he says. "This was the job that I wanted. I love this
place. It's what I always aspired to.”
Many on this list know Phil from his time at WPR, but also stints at
Capital Public Radio and KUT. I don’t have news about any memorial
arrangements yet. I’ll share them when possible.
