Hi everyone,
You may have heard about the upcoming January 31 launch of CPB’s System
Technology http://current.org/2016/10/cpb-equipment-survey/Assessment
http://current.org/2016/10/cpb-equipment-survey/. This assessment takes
stock of public television and radio stations’ production and broadcast
equipment, and their financial strategies to support future equipment.
California has the largest and smallest radio stations, which makes it
important for all of us to participate to make sure our needs and
requirements are part of future planning.
Why should California stations participate in the assessment?
• Help the public media community educate other stakeholders about the
state and needs of the public media community, underpin initiatives to
improve and fill identified gaps, and to develop support for public media’s
equipment and financial needs
• Understand California’s needs. CPB will share collected data with
respondents upon assessment conclusion and results verification later this
spring (with appropriate confidentiality safeguards)
• Help the public media community understand its current state, as
well as anticipate future needs to understand how to surmount challenges
and seize opportunities
Watch for emails from CPB and Eagle Hill Consulting on the 31st with more
information and the links to the online assessment. Thanks in advance for
your support in ensuring California stations are represented in the final
results!
Thanks,
*Frank Lanzone, Jr. *
