Hi everyone,

Joyce Mac asked me to forward this to y'all.
Good luck!

I'll be attending the NPR board meeting next week. Let me know if there are
issues you want raised, watched, or questioned.

Take care,
Frank

Subject: Round 2 of Regional Journalism Collaboration Grants
CPB seeks to increase the capacity of public radio and television stations
to create high-quality original and enterprise journalism by supporting
another round of Regional Journalism Collaborations ("RJCs") that will
establish reporting partnerships between multiple station newsrooms in a
state or region.
With the reduced capacity of local newspapers, the diminished footprint of
commercial broadcast journalism, and the challenge of sustainability for
many online news organizations, public media is well positioned to become
the primary source of news and information for the American public, based on
trusted brands, loyal audiences, and a strong track record of award-winning
local, regional, and national journalism.
In pursuit of that critical goal, CPB is supporting the launch of RJCs that
will have an immediate high impact on the quantity and quality of original
reporting for a region and thus the relevance and importance of public media
news.
Building on the success of the CPB-launched Local Journalism Collaborations
and the enthusiasm surrounding the launch of the first round of RJCs, we
believe that the regional collaborative journalism approach will enable
public media to take a significant step forward in filling the
local/regional news gap.
RJC grant guidelines and application requirements are available at

http://www.cpb.org/grants/regional-journalism-collaborations-0, and the
deadline for submission is 5:00 P.M., July 25, 2016.
